Style: fall essentials under $75!

style trend comment

Fall essentials under $75 | see all the picks at www.shoppingmycloset.com

With the recent transition into the fall season, I always take inventory of my closet to see what essentials I may be missing or what new trends I can try out. I’ve rounded up some stylish options (all under $75!) that will serve as both closet essentials and stylish fall trends.

Trench coat: You can never go wrong with a trench coat – I consider it a closet staple. This particular one is perfect for wearing unbuttoned or easy to cinch with the drawstring. And you can’t go wrong when it’s under $75 (don’t forget extra 10% off when you sign up for their newsletter)

Plaid scarf: This comes in 2 colors – this pictured one that’s a more bright color combination or a more muted but equally pretty red and blue color combination (code MORE25 for $10 off $25). Either way, you can’t go wrong – the plaid style will never go out of style. Wear it as additional layer over your tee or sweater or tuck it underneath your trench coat for a pop of color!.

Side slit turtleneck: This is a fun twist on the classic turtleneck – a longer length and a fun side slit detail. Now, how can you resist either the olive green or burgundy colors? Update: it also comes in black, grey, and coral/rust color

Open front cardigan: I live in these! They’re cozy (most important!) and easily paired with just about anything (jeans, slacks, skirts, dress, etc). I love this particular one since it has pockets and I can easily slip my essentials in without requiring a wallet or clutch.

Hi-low raw hem jeans: Raw hem jeans have been all the rage. They’re made even better with the unexpected hi-low cut and gives it a bit of an edge. This pair is a great option for under $50 (code GOSHOP35 for extra 15% off)!

Velvet booties: Booties are a closet essential for the fall. Try these black velvet booties with your favorite pair of skinny jeans tucked in or pair it with a dress. The fabric adds a unique dimension to another otherwise black pair of booties.

Olive green is usually a color I pull out and wear quit often during the fall season. I love the military-inspired feel of this jacket but also an updated look with the button tab sleeve details. This is a quick and easy outfit I threw together with the idea of being a little dressy while still being comfortable. Which makes this my countdown to the weekend so I can wear this look again!

I’ve been trying to prolong my summer wardrobe for as long as possible and with last week’s quick trip to Los Angeles, this was the perfect opportunity to do just that.

A quick visit to the contemporary Broad Museum was a nice getaway from all the hustle and bustle of the city. Tips: book your free tickets online 2 months before; the museum’s exterior is best captured early in the morning before cars line the stree; and parking is cheaper across the street at the Walt Disney Concert Hall lot.

There were a few hit and misses with the food. Hits: Urth Caffe and Brodard (always, in my book!). I’ll spare you the mediocre!

I wanted to check out LA’s Smorgasburg (the west coast version of Brooklyn’s Smorgasburg) but ran out of time – maybe with the next visit!

P.S. Did you enter for your chance to win $50?

I knew that having a baby would impact the ways I would be able to do errands so when I was shopping for baby strollers I did a lot of research and helped narrowed down my search by answering some key questions. There are so many options out there so I thought it would be helpful to any new parents out there to share some of my tips on what to think about to help you hone in on the stroller that will work for you and your baby.

(1) For new parents, it’s important to consider if you want a system that will allow you attach the baby carrier to the stroller unit and use it that way (aka “frame stroller”), or if you want to have a convertible system (i.e baby carrier attaches to the stroller but as the baby grows, you can attach an actual upright seat).

(2) Are you looking for something compact and lightweight, or do you want something a little heavier that will allow navigation through various terrain?

(3) What are your potential future plans? If more children are a possibility, would you want to purchase a stroller that has add-on options (i.e kickstand, double seats (car seat + upright, 2 uprights))?

(4) Safety was the key thing for me so once I was able to answer the questions above, I consulted various reliable websites to look at the safety ratings, including: Consumer Reports and Baby Gear Lab.

I’d love to hear what other tips you may have – leave them in the comments below! If you’re in the market for a new stroller for your baby or as a gift, enter the giveaway below for a $50 certificate towards one (or anything else baby-related!) on Diapers.com!
