Save or splurge: shoe edition | see all the picks at www.shoppingmycloset.com

There are too many cute shoe options available right now that “need” to be in my closet right now for summer! I recently did a huge shoe purge including pairs that were well worn past their expiration, ill fitting ones, and ones that simply had been an impulse buy that never really saw the light of day. I’ve been trying to be mindful of what I replace and I’ve been lusting after a few styles! I’ve found a lot of good options for all budgets and thought I’d share them with you. Would love to hear which ones you add to your shoe collection!

Save or splurge: crop top dress

Save or splurge: crop top dress | www.shoppingmycloset.com

The crop top has suddenly come back into style this season. The last time crop tops were popular was during the 90s when practically every pop star was wearing it. This season, the style is a little more refined and can be pulled off while looking chic and sophisticated. Gone are the days of baring one’s entire stomach; replacing it are looks that show a little sliver of skin and leaving a lot to the imagination. The most feminine and ladylike style of pulling of this look has been the matching crop top and bottom (skirt or pant) trend. Usually the bottom portion is high-waisted to balance and counter the crop top. Take this great summer crop top combination dress from Tibi. The top is loose and open and allows a little bit of skin to peek through at the midsection. Or, create your own version of this by pairing this fitting black crop top with this scuba midi skirt. Would you wear the crop top look, and would you save or splurge?

The neon trend seems to be back in full effect. Gone are the days of the 80s with big hair and neon from head to toe. Replacing it are classy pieces in a neon/bright color. Take for example the number of celebrities wearing gorgeous gowns with the striking color scheme:
