Save or splurge: crop top dress

save or splurge comment

Save or splurge: crop top dress |

The crop top has suddenly come back into style this season. The last time crop tops were popular was during the 90s when practically every pop star was wearing it. This season, the style is a little more refined and can be pulled off while looking chic and sophisticated. Gone are the days of baring one’s entire stomach; replacing it are looks that show a little sliver of skin and leaving a lot to the imagination. The most feminine and ladylike style of pulling of this look has been the matching crop top and bottom (skirt or pant) trend. Usually the bottom portion is high-waisted to balance and counter the crop top. Take this great summer crop top combination dress from Tibi. The top is loose and open and allows a little bit of skin to peek through at the midsection. Or, create your own version of this by pairing this fitting black crop top with this scuba midi skirt. Would you wear the crop top look, and would you save or splurge?

I love both! But depending on where and how I’d be wearing it, I may do splurge. But I just love splurging! Hahaha

The skirt on the right is definitely better, not only design wise, but fabric wise also. And regarding crop top, I think you should search for more options 🙂 Other than that – great selection, can’t wait for the outfit from you 🙂

    • Thanks for the feedback – I’ll try to include other options next time!

Love the two piece set; you can wear it up or down! Song of Style wore it in pink and I was obsessed!

  • I love the full skirt!!

Even though crop tops are so much more sophisticated this time around, I’m still not sure about the trend. So, instead of fully committing to a cropped top, I tend to knot a t-shirt – very nineties, I know – to just above my waist if I want to show a little bit of skin. That way, I can always untie it if I decide I’m not comfortable with the look after all. If I had to pick, I’d definitely save on this look – since I’m still not totally convinced 🙂

    • That’s definitely a good medium! Knotted shirts also seem to be making a great comeback, too!

Not sure if I could pull this off but I do love the look!
