The neon trend seems to be back in full effect. Gone are the days of the 80s with big hair and neon from head to toe. Replacing it are classy pieces in a neon/bright color. Take for example the number of celebrities wearing gorgeous gowns with the striking color scheme:
Elegant and polished are two words to describe this week’s save or splurge pick of neon dresses. Who could resist a delicate lace overlay dress? The dress is the entire look as it holds center court. Minimal accessories are needed regardless if you were wearing the Valentino neon fit-and-flare dress or this shift dress from J.Crew. What are your thoughts on neon, and would you save or splurge?

Happy Friday, everyone! Ready for a weekend getaway? Consider coming to the Napa Valley! The Napa Valley is one of the most beautiful regions in California and is the home of almost 400 wineries. A stone’s throw north of San Francisco, the Napa region is estimated to be the second most visited attraction in California (after Disneyland).
Napa known not only for its wineries but also its vast number of spas, shopping, and dining. It’s a perfect destination for a getaway to catch some sun, drink fabulous wine, enjoy some culinary greatness and take in some R&R.
A weekend getaway in Napa’s wine country means you’ll need some fabulous outfits!
Clockwise from left:
Start off going to brunch in a cute outfit. This bright yellow lace skirt is perfect for the sunny spring weather! Contrast it with a striped tank and bring along a lightweight cardigan in case the clouds make an appearance for a little while. A open-toed nude pump will elongate your figure and give you legs for days! Of course, you can’t forget the clutch – a necessity to hold all your essentials as you embark on your day.
After brunch, take a walk around and enjoy shopping at the boutiques and indulge yourself in a spa treatment! Worked up an appetite? Try some fine dining at mouthwatering establishments such as Ad Hoc, Bottega, The French Laundry, Morimoto, or Redd. Try a little black dress for the occasion. Add some sparkling earrings, a pop of red with a clutch, and some fun pumps and you’re already for some great eats!
On day 2, it’s time for some wine tasting. Whether your preference is cabernet, pinot, chardonnay, or zinfandel, you’ve come to the right spot. This internationally renowned region has a diverse showing of winemakers and they’d love for you to come and taste their creations. Consider taking a limo wine tour so you can sample all the wonderful flavors. Of course, that means you’ll need something comfortable to wear! Denim jeans are perfect for getting in and out of the stretch limo and navigating through all the castles and rooms of the various wineries. Try a blush-colored silk blouse and a matching blazer for a more casual but still sophisticated look. Complete the look with some cute earrings, a stylish quilted clutch, and bow-detailed pumps.
Hope you enjoy your stay and consider coming back again!

Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far. Yesterday, I shared with you a sweater pick from the spring J.Crew catalog. Today, I will show you how I would style two chic, work-ready outfits.
Polka dots draw a lot of attention and can easily be the focal point of an outfit. They also allow you to get away with minimal accessories, but still look very well put together. I’m a real sucker for polka dots, large or small. As you can see, the polka dots on this shirt are well-spaced and uniform. Pairing this top with black slacks provides some contrast, and a skinny gold belt defines the waistline. A navy cardigan provides a subtle pop of color, while the addition of a chunky seafoam-colored necklace creates visual interest. If a more formal outfit were required, I would replace the cardigan with a black blazer … business ready!
For my second work-ready outfit, I chose this dress and necklace:
Colorblocking has been a trend for some time now, and probably for good reason: it transforms a muted look to a more playful one. To achieve balanced colorblocking (and not look like a clown!), I usually pair either contrasting or complementary colors. I’ll generally utilize a maximum of two to three colors because 1) that way, the outfit won’t look too busy, and 2) I’m wearing the outfit (not the other way around!).
This dress is a good example of colorblocking – your attention is drawn to the dominant black color, which helps affirm a balanced silhouette. There are two colors in the dress, but black and cream are neutrals. Pairing neutral colors with a pair of red pumps adds an instant amount of pizzazz. Lastly, the crystal statement necklace adds some flair without being overly dominant. A cream satchel with metal hardware detailing complements the dress and necklace, and you’re all set!
