I hope everyone had a Happy Father’s Day yesterday! Over the weekend, I went to celebrate with both my husband’s dad as well as my own. It was rather warm so it called for a lighter outfit. I decided to go with this coral pleated top but before it could be presentable, I had to iron it. It only took what felt like a million years to iron. Note to self: don’t attempt to wash pleated items at home or you’ll be spending more time getting done what the dry cleaners can do in 15 seconds. I couldn’t decide if bauble necklaces are still in or not ‐ I figured if they’re not, then I could at least get one last hurray out this one. What do you think – are bauble necklaces in or out?

It seems lately I’ve been pairing bold with bold, and this outfit is no exception! I love the wide stripes on the skirt and the pleats remind me of skirts my mom used to make for me as a child. Add some hidden pockets and sold! This pink top was a good color contrast against the navy and the similarity of the material made it a no-brainer for me to pair them together. Add a little detail with a necklace and belt, and voilà, a complete outfit! What bold outfit (color or pattern) have you worn lately?

Gingham is one of my favorite patterns and it seems to never get old. The print has been around for a while now – you might recognize it on Dorothy, who wore it in The Wizard of Oz or the pink gingham wedding dress that Brigitte Bardot wore for her nuptials! Designers such as Derek Lam, Oscar de la Renta, and Balmain have even showcased it on the runway as part of their collection for Spring 2014.
Such a classic print lends itself well for both a dressed-up or casual feel. This is my dressed-up version of the outfit ‐ something I would wear to work. By adding a pop of color, I’m able to create a unique contrast to the navy blue and thus, a visually catching look. For a more casual feel, I would pair the gingham with some boyfriend jeans, canvas sneakers, and a baseball cap. What’s your favorite gingham piece?

Hi, my name is Liz and I think I have a stripes
problem filled closet. I definitely have developed an affinity for stripes as you can see. I wore this over the weekend as I enjoyed a great brunch outing with some friends that was complete with lots of delicious food and fun times. I paired the outfit with a crop white blazer and dressed down the outfit a little with some skinny jeans. Borrowing from Jenna Lyons, I paired the entire outfit with a neutral leopard clutch to give some visual interest and texture to the look. I hope you enjoyed your weekend – would love to hear what you were up to!
Sometimes, when I’m shooting pictures I will get looks from passersbys. But this time, I somehow ended up next to a person walking a pig. Yes, a full-sized pig. On a leash. In the middle of a busy intersection.
