Goodbye, July! The weather was much nicer around these parts which meant more opportunities to wear dresses! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: dresses are so versatile and perfect for those mornings when you’re running late or seem to not have anything to wear. Which outfit was your favorite?

I remember watching Keri Russell and her extra curly hair in Felicity during my college years. However, I hadn’t heard much about her career until most recently. She’s been out promoting her new movie Dawn of the Plant of the Apes and she has been mixing classic colors with this season’s fashion trends. At one of the recent premieres, she wore this gorgeous Lanvin black ruched jumpsuit. The elegant shoulder draping was complimented with a a simple crescent pendant necklace and strappy gold Manolos.

You know when you walk into a store and one thing catches your eye and you make a beeline for it? This is what happened when I saw this dress. Stripe dress in a alternating pale peach and ivory color and the perfect fit-and-flare silhouette? Sold! I may or may not have been so focused on admiring this dress that I temporarily forgot my original intent of going into the store. Priorities, first! My closet may or may not be thanking me as I squeeze one more very necessary dress into it. No more dresses…for now.

I hope everyone enjoyed the long 3 day weekend! Unfortunately for me, I was ill most of the weekend (perfect timing, right?)! I didn’t get to do much of anything given my condition. I did, at least, manage to salvage of the festivities by viewing a fireworks show from my house. Something about these shows always mesmerize me – no matter how many shows I’ve seen before I’m always in awe of how the fireworks paint and color the night sky.
I wore this outfit yesterday while about exploring museums. I kept it pretty simple with this J.Crew purple dress and similarly matching beaded necklace. How was your 4th of July?
